A great dinner, the food was excellent and reasonably priced. The staff were attentive but without being "in your face" and a pleasant buzzing atmosphere. Definitely be going again soon.
Food was fantastic. The service was okay. One waiter was very blunt. We were the first in and the table cloths were dirty with food from the night before. Food was worth it though.
Our favourite Indian by far! Beautiful every time we come, the waiters are great. Good value for portion sizes too.
This review is based on 1 visit, however other family members have visited previously. First impressions were great. We booked in advance for 6pm on a Friday night for 6 adults, 1 child (4 years) and 1 baby (4 months). There is free onstreet parking and it wasn't busy to find a space. There is however no disabled access to the building. 2 steps to get in and then a further step once inside to get seated. There are tables up and downstairs, I've included a picture of the upstairs to give you an idea, I believe there are 12 steps so be warned if you struggles with them at the toilets are also upstairs. The toilets are fantastic. The are labeled by Gender however it isn't necessary as they are just lockable rooms with all facilities available inside with the exception of a baby change (slightly oversight on their part.) Food, so I'm a vegetarian but I got the opinions of my family too and they had meat options. We all agreed the food was 9.7+ out of 10. They had Okra in the Vegetarian Options - this was a big winner for me. But it was let down by the aubergine, it just doesn't need to be in a curry. The meat was plenty, in no way stingy. Portion sizes were adequate, can't complain at all. Rice is enough to share if you're having bread to share too. We also shared onion bhaji between two, which was plenty to start. Soft drinks were pretty expensive for being out of bottles but it is what it is. They had fresh juice for our 4 year old. Alcohol, they had Cobra was also available on draught along side wine and a good selection of spirits.
THE only restaurant we will eat curry at for the last 20 years! Service always superb, the food is excellent. In all these years visiting we've never had a disappointing meal.
Food was lovely, really flavourful and tasty. Service was efficient and attentive. Had a great meal with friends for my husbands birthday. Would highly recommend!
Part of me wonders why I am writing this review because, believe me, this restaurant needs no help by way of favourable reviews. The menu is so well presented with the perfect amount of interesting dishes on offer. I ordered a chicken Sylheti Shatkora which was absolutely superb, on the recommendation of our hosts, my wife had a Makhonwala which was also, so good. Thanks to everyone at Zara's for an excellent evening with top class food, and of course our hosts.
